China: Consultation closed on Guidelines for Classification and Grading of Internet Platforms (Draft)

On 8 November 2021, China's State Administration for Market Supervision (SAMR) has closed the consultation on the Guidelines for Classification and Grading of Internet Platforms (Draft). The draft Guidelines contain a classificatory system for internet platforms, classifying them by both size and industry. The draft Guidelines are released in conjunction with the Guidelines for Implementing Subject Responsibilities on Internet Platforms (Draft), which contain the respective responsibilites of internet platforms based on their classification.
