Argentina: Agency for Access to Public Information initiated investigation into alleged data breach under Law No. 25,326 on the Protection of Personal Data

The AAIP, acting as the authority for Law No. 25,326 on the Protection of Personal Data, launched the inquiry following public reports of a security incident. The investigation aims to identify the entities responsible for processing the compromised data, determine the specific databases involved, and verify whether a security breach occurred. Furthermore, the AAIP intends to evaluate the technical and organisational measures implemented by the involved parties to ensure data confidentiality. The authority also requested information from national cybersecurity bodies to confirm if any related computer security incidents were officially reported by the public and private institutions potentially affected.
