Description

Artificial Intelligence Bill of Rights (SB 482) including age verification requirement was introduced to Florida Senate

On 22 December 2025, the Artificial Intelligence Bill of Rights (SB 482), including age verification requirement, was introduced to the Florida Senate. The Bill would require companion chatbot platforms to prohibit minors from creating or maintaining accounts unless a parent or guardian provides consent. Where consent is provided, platforms would be required to allow parental access to interactions, to limit daily and weekly usage, to disable interactions with third-party account holders, and to provide notifications when a minor expresses intent to engage in self-harm or harm to others. Accounts treated as belonging to minors for content or advertising purposes would be subject to termination where parental consent is not provided, with a 90-day dispute period. Entry into force is set for 1 July 2026.
