On 13 May 2020, the Brazilian Law on Freedom, Responsibility and Transparency on the Internet (Bill 2630/20) including local operation requirements, was introduced in the Senate. In particular, the Bill would require social network services and private messaging service providers with over 2 million registered users to appoint legal representatives in Brazil. The providers would be required to include the contact information of their legal representatives on their platform.
