On 3 December 2025, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) workforce projections, research, and evaluations to promote AI readiness and employment Act (AI Workforce PREPARE Act) was introduced to the Senate. The Act applies to workers, training providers, policymakers, and employers across all industry sectors potentially affected by AI adoption. It aims to establish a framework for measuring and responding to AI's impact on employment through five mechanisms. These mechanisms include mandating enhanced data collection on AI adoption and AI-related redundancies through existing federal surveys, voluntary industry reporting, and improved disclosure requirements under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. The Act also directs the production of short- and medium-term occupational employment forecasts that include prediction intervals reflecting uncertainty about AI's trajectory.
