Adopted 2022 amendment of Copyright Act introducing penalties for copyright infringements in streaming

The Amendment to the Copyright Act 1987 (Copyright Act 2022) is adopted by the Malaysian parliament. The Amendment introduces penalties for copyright infringements through manufacturing, importing, providing, advertising, or distributing streaming technologies. According to the amendment, all business associates of the party that violates copyright have the burden to prove their innocence.
