Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida filed lawsuit against Roblox Corporation over alleged misrepresentation of child safety and failure to implement child protection measures under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act

On 11 December 2025, the Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida, Department of Legal Affairs filed a Complaint against Roblox Corporation before the Circuit Court of the Eighth Judicial Circuit in and for Baker County, Florida. The Complaint alleges violations of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, Chapter 501, Part II, Florida Statutes. It seeks injunctive relief, consumer restitution, civil penalties, attorneys’ fees, costs, and other statutory and equitable relief. The Complaint states that Roblox Corporation is a Nevada corporation registered as a foreign corporation in Florida and that it owns, operates, controls, designs, markets, and distributes the Roblox app in Florida. It asserts jurisdiction and venue under Florida law, including provisions applicable to online platforms predominantly accessed by children. The Complaint alleges that Roblox Corporation engaged in unfair or deceptive acts or practices by representing the Roblox platform as safe for children while failing to implement age verification, parental consent, and other child safety measures, and by facilitating interactions that exposed Florida minors to harm.
