Vietnam: National Assembly adopted Amended Press Law including cybersecurity regulation

On 10 December 2025, the amended Press Law, including cybersecurity regulation, was adopted by the National Assembly. The Law includes rules requiring press agencies operating online to comply with cybersecurity regulations, their approved mandates, and Vietnam’s international treaty obligations. The Law requires the operator of the national digital press platform to ensure the integrity of all published and broadcast content. It also provides that the Government would issue regulations defining the platform and the digital tools used to monitor press activity in cyberspace.
