National Assembly adopted Amended Press Law including content moderation regulation

On 10 December 2025, the National Assembly adopted the amended Press Law, which includes content moderation regulations. The Law restricts content that opposes the State, distorts party or state policies, causes social division, incites hatred or discrimination, or undermines national unity or international solidarity. It also limits content that incites war, distorts history, damages Vietnam’s reputation, or affects diplomatic relations. In addition, the Law prohibits promoting superstition or harmful misinformation, inciting violence or obscene behaviour, spreading false or defamatory information, and circulating banned or corrected press products.
