Uzbekistan: Ministry of Digital Technologies closes consultation on draft rules and principles of ethics in the development and application of artificial intelligence technologies

On 12 December 2025, the Ministry of Digital Technologies closes the consultation on the rules and principles of ethics in the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The rules, which aim to contribute to the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies until 2030, set out ethical standards for AI development. AI developers and deployers would be subject to a number of obligations, such as ensuring that operations, key algorithmic criteria, decision-making, and sources are presented transparently, ensuring that decisions made by AI systems remain subject to human oversight, and designing AI systems to enable their reliable and safe operation.
