On 9 December 2025, the Ending Coercion of Children and Harm Online Act (ECCHO Act/SB 3397) was introduced to the Senate. The Act would create a new offence called "coercion of children to commit harm." The offence would make it unlawful to intentionally coerce a minor to commit suicide, harm others, or commit acts such as doxxing or swatting. According to the co-sponsors, the Act aims to specifically criminalise the actions of certain online criminal networks.
