Governor announced proposal for an Artificial Intelligence Bill of Rights

On 4 December 2025, the Governor of Florida announced a proposal for an Artificial Intelligence Bill of Rights. The proposed legislation would introduce parental controls, providing parents access to the conversations between their children and large language models, allowing parents to restrict children’s access to those models, and notifying parents of concerning behaviour. The proposed legislation would also prohibit AI from using an individual's name or likeness without consent, prohibit the provision of licensed therapy or mental health counselling through AI, and require a notice to consumers interacting with AI chatbots. Further, the proposed legislation would reenact or mirror existing provisions regarding deepfakes and data privacy. The Proposal has not been introduced to the legislature as a bill yet.
