China: State Administration for Market Regulation's technical requirements of electronic product information erasure enter into force

On 1 January 2027, the State Administration for Market Regulation Technical Requirements of Electronic Product Information Erasure (GB 46864-2025) will enter into force. The document specifies the technical requirements for information erasure of electronic products. It applies to the design, development, and verification of information erasure functions. It also provides for the standardisation of the information erasure process in recycling.
