On 20 November 2025, the Office of Communications (Ofcom) expanded its investigation into XGroovy after the company failed to respond to a formal information notice issued under section 100 of the Online Safety Act on 23 September 2025. The provision allows Ofcom to require any relevant service to provide, or enable real-time access to information needed to carry out its online safety functions. In September, Ofcom, under its enforcement programme to protect children from encountering pornographic content through the use of age assurance, opened an investigation into XGroovy in relation to the adult service it operates. Under the expanded investigation, Ofcom will examine whether XGroovy has failed to comply with its duty to provide accurate information in response to the notices under the Act.
