China: Beginning of Huya and Douyu Merger Review

On 4 January 2021, China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has begun its review of the proposed merger of the streaming companies Huya and Douyu, proposed by tech and entertainment conglomerate Tencent Holdings. During the following merger review, opinions by experts, competitors and the involved parties will be requested. On top of that, the market of the involved parties will be analyzed.
