China: New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Ethics Code adopted

On 25 September 2021, China's Ministry of Science and Technology has announced that the National New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional Committee has issued the New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Ethics Code. The code applies to all persons, natural or legal, who are engaged in AI-related management, R&D, as well as the supply and use of AI, with separate provisions for each of these fields. The Code also emphasizes the importance of data security, privacy, human control, and accountability in connection to AI.
