No Fentanyl on Social Media Act (HB 6259) was introduced to House of Representatives

On 21 November 2025, the No Fentanyl on Social Media Act was introduced to the House of Representatives. The Act applies to social media platforms and directs the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to report on minors’ access to fentanyl through social media. It requires the FTC, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Drug Enforcement Administration to assess the prevalence of access, related health and safety risks, platform design factors, drug-seller tactics, and the effectiveness of platform and law-enforcement measures, and to provide recommendations for Congress. The FTC is also required to consult parents, platforms, law enforcement, medical experts, and others, with sensitive details subject to redaction. The report is due within one year of enactment of the Act.
