On 25 November 2025, the Children and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Act (HB 6291) was introduced to the House of Representatives. The Act would amend the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, which requires operators to obtain parental consent for the collection and use of children's personal data, by expanding its scope from children's personal data (under-13s) to include teens (under-17s). The Act would also require operators to allow parents and teens to delete, at any time, content submitted by a child or teen to a website, online service, online application, or mobile application.
