United States of America: President signed Executive Order launching Genesis Mission aimed at accelerating scientific discovery using AI

On 24 November 2025, the President signed the Executive Order launching the Genesis Mission, an initiative aimed at advancing scientific discovery using artificial intelligence (AI). The Mission will use federal datasets and high-performance computing to develop AI tools that support research automation, hypothesis testing, and innovation. The Department of Energy will coordinate with federal agencies, national laboratories, universities, and private-sector partners. The American Science and Security Platform will provide computing resources, AI frameworks, data access, and experimental tools. The Secretary of Energy is required to identify datasets and resources, demonstrate initial platform capabilities, and define priority scientific and technological challenges.
