CPTPP and EU members announced CPTPP-EU Trade and Investment Dialogue Joint Ministerial Statement including commitment to continuation of moratorium on customs duties for electronic transmissions

On 20 November 2025, Parties to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the European Union (EU) issued the CPTPP-EU Trade and Investment Dialogue Joint Ministerial Statement, including a commitment to continuing the moratorium on customs duties for electronic transmissions. They also highlighted efforts to incorporate the Agreement on Electronic Commerce into the WTO legal framework and to bring it into force and called upon all World Trade Organisation Members to progress toward a long-term solution for the facilitation of digital trade.
