ASEAN: Parties to CPTPP and ASEAN Members announced CPTPP-ASEAN Trade and Investment Dialogue Joint Ministerial Statement including commitment to maintain moratorium on customs duties for electronic transmissions

On 20 November 2025, Parties to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and ASEAN Members issued the CPTPP-ASEAN Trade and Investment Dialogue Joint Ministerial Statement, which includes a reaffirmed commitment to maintain moratorium on customs duties for electronic transmissions. The Parties also called upon all World Trade Organisation Members to progress toward a solution concerning the trade of electronic transmissions that promotes the growth of the digital economy and certainty.
