Nigeria: Nigeria approved ratification of Protocol to Agreement Establishing African Continental Free Trade Area on Digital Trade

On 6 November 2025, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) announced that it had ratified the Protocol to the Agreement Establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area on Digital Trade. The Protocol aims to establish harmonised rules and common principles to facilitate digital trade among member states. The Protocol addresses areas such as cross-border data transfers, digital payments, and personal data protection.
