United States, Switzerland and Liechtenstein announced Framework for Agreement on Reciprocal, Fair, and Balanced Trade including prohibition of customs duties on electronic transmissions

On 14 November 2025, the United States, Switzerland and Liechtenstein announced a Framework for negotiating an Agreement on Reciprocal, Fair, and Balanced Trade including prohibition of customs duties on electronic transmissions. As part of the Framework, the participants express their intention to refrain from the imposition of customs duties on electronic transmissions. Further, the participants intend to support the adoption of a permanent moratorium on such customs duties at the WTO.
