Turkiye: Advertisement ban on Pinterest for non-compliance with social media law

The information technologies and communications authority (ITCA) of Turkiye imposed an advertising ban on Pinterest Inc over the companies non-compliance with the law that requires social media platforms to maintain a legal presence in the country. This is now required by law, after amendments to Law No. 5651 were made. Real persons living and paying taxes in Turkiye are prohibited from entering into new contracts or publishing new advertisements.
