On 11 January 2022, the New Jersey Disclosure and Accountability Transparency Act (NJ DaTA) is introduced. The Act specifies a set of requirements for the disclosure and processing of personally identifiable information and establishes the Office of Data Protection and Responsible Use in the Division of Consumer Affairs. Particularly, the Act requires the users' opt-in consent to collect and process personal data and introduces the right to data access and portability.
