On 15 October 2025, the Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill (Bill No. 18/2025) was introduced to Parliament. The Bill would permit the Commissioner of Online Safety to require the retention and production of information in relation to reported online harmful activities or the identification of end-users suspected of engaging in online harmful activities. The obligation to provide information applies both to persons inside and outside of Singapore, and a person who fails to comply with a written notice issued by the Commissioner without reasonable excuse would commit an offence and be liable to imprisonment or a fine of up to SGD 10'000.
