On 16 October 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) opened a public consultation on the regulations on supervision and management of third-party platform providers and online catering service providers' implementation of food safety responsibilities, until 16 November 2025. The regulations apply to third-party online catering platforms and online food operators. It requires platforms to supervise operators, ensure licensing compliance, and disclose fees transparently. Operators must follow licensing rules and sell only approved food. The regulations also includes measures to protect delivery workers and mandates risk management systems for food safety.
