Description

Morocco and the Digital Cooperation Organisation signed Memorandum of Understanding on Human-Centred Digital Cooperation

On 3 July 2025, Morocco and the Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Human-Centred Digital Cooperation during the First National Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Salé. The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration on ethical, equitable and inclusive digital transformation and supports innovation, capacity building and regional cooperation. It provides for the implementation of the We-Elevate programme to strengthen the participation of Moroccan small and medium-sized enterprises in global digital trade and the Green Cloud Morocco initiative to promote sustainable digital infrastructure. The latter includes the construction of three artificial intelligence factories, including a green data centre integrating renewable energy and circular economy principles to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption. The MoU enhances Morocco’s role in international digital ecosystems and supports the ethical use of emerging technologies.
