United Kingdom: The Online Safety Act 2023 (Commencement No. 5) (Revocation) Regulations 2025 entered into force

On 9 October 2025, United Kingdom's Home Office adopted the Online Safety Act 2023 (Commencement No. 5) (Revocation) Regulations 2025, revoking the earlier Commencement No. 5 Regulations that were set to activate provisions requiring certain user-to-user service providers to report child sexual abuse and exploitation content to the National Crime Agency. The revocation implies that the reporting obligations under the Online Safety Act 2023 will no longer take effect on 3 November 2025.
