On 29 September 2025, the Aligning Incentives for Leadership, Excellence, and Advancement in Development Act (AI LEAD Act/S.2937) was introduced in the Senate, empowering the Attorney General of the United States to enforce the statutory framework through civil actions. The Department of Justice is authorised to seek injunctive relief, civil penalties, restitution, and other appropriate remedies, and is responsible for maintaining a public registry of designated agents of foreign developers. State attorneys general are granted concurrent enforcement authority to bring actions in federal district court on behalf of residents, while individuals retain a private right of action, including collective proceedings.
