Ofcom guidance on content moderation obligations for Video-sharing platforms (VSP)

On 6 October 2021, the Office of Communications (Ofcom) of the United Kingdom published a guidance to help Video-sharing platforms (VSP) providers in understanding their regulatory obligations. In particular, the guidance offers an overview of the rules and requirements of the VSP Framework, details the types of video content that might constitute harmful material, explains the measures that providers can implement to protect users from harmful material, incentivises providers to pursue risk management assessments and expands on Ofcom’s approach to enforcement and monitoring.
