Bill on systemic relevance in digital markets and creation of the Superintendence of Digital Markets (PL 4675/2025) including local operations requirement was introduced in Chamber of Deputies

On 17 September 2025, the Bill on systemic relevance in digital markets and creation of the Superintendence of Digital Markets (PL 4675/2025) was introduced in the Chamber of Deputies. The Bill requires undertakings designated as of systemic relevance in digital markets to maintain an office in Brazil and to update their notification addresses, including electronic, as well as the registered details of their legal representatives with the Administrative Council for Economic Defence (CADE). Non-compliance with this requirement results in a daily fine of BRL 20'000, which may be increased up to fifty times depending on the undertaking’s economic capacity.
