European Union: European Commission announced investigation into proposed joint venture between Meta Platforms and Reliance Industries in enterprise AI services market

On 3 September 2025, the European Commission announced an investigation into the proposed joint venture between Meta Platforms and Reliance Industries. The joint venture will develop and commercialise enterprise Artificial Intelligence technology. It is intended to operate in India for at least the first three years. Meta and Reliance will each acquire shares in the joint venture.
