China: Cyberspace Administration issued order against UC platform over harmful content

On 23 September 2025, the Cyberspace Administration of China issued an order directing the Guangdong cyberspace regulator to act against UC platform for failing to manage information content. The platform allowed sensitive case terms, online violence, and minor privacy breaches on hot search lists. Authorities ordered interviews, corrections, warnings, and accountability measures under the Regulations on the Ecological Governance of Network Information Content.
