On 17 March 2026, the Bill on protection of children and adolescents in digital environments, including content moderation authority governance (Law No. 15,211) enters into force. The Bill establishes an autonomous administrative authority responsible for supervising compliance with its provisions across Brazil and empowered to issue complementary regulations. In cases of non-compliance, and ensuring due legal process, violators may face a range of penalties including warnings with deadlines for corrective action, fines up to 10% of the provider’s revenue in Brazil or a capped per-user amount, temporary suspension of activities, or prohibition from operating.
