Governments of United States and United Kingdom signed memorandum of understanding on Technology Prosperity Deal

On 18 September 2025, the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the Technology Prosperity Deal. The MoU applies to private sector actors and research institutions in Artificial Intelligence (AI), civil nuclear, fusion, quantum technologies, 6G, and advanced telecommunications. It sets a framework for joint research, shared infrastructure, standards development, AI policy alignment, commercial partnerships, workforce development, secure supply chains, and export promotion. The MOU commits the US and UK to mobilise private and joint funding to develop and deploy advanced technologies. The MoU also provides that Ministerial-Level Working Group will be established within six months, and annual discussions will assess progress.
