United States of America: Florida Attorney General filed lawsuit against Gethins Limited for alleged violations of Age Verification Law and Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act

On 15 September 2025, the Attorney General of Florida filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit against Gethins Limited, Toccata, Segpay Gateway LLC, and Segregated Payments (doing business as Segpay), alleging violations of Section 501.1737, Florida Statutes, and the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA). The complaint concerned a platform identified as Lusty Heroes, which provided pornographic video game content containing explicit depictions of sexual activity without a compliant age-verification process. The complaint detailed that users were able to access sexually explicit content immediately after clicking a simple confirmation button regarding their age, without further checks. The Attorney General requested injunctive relief to prohibit further violations, the imposition of civil penalties of up to USD 50'000 per violation, recovery of attorney’s fees and costs, and permanent orders requiring compliance with Florida’s Age Verification Law and FDUTPA.
