Description

State Administration for Market Regulation released preliminary findings that Nvidia violated Anti-Monopoly Law as part of investigation into acquisition of equity in Mellanox Technologies

On 15 September 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) announced preliminary findings in its investigation into NVIDIA's 2019 acquisition of Mellanox Technologies. The SAMR determined that the acquisition violated the Anti-Monopoly Law of the People's Republic of China and an earlier anti-monopoly review decision that had included restrictive conditions. However, the SAMR has emphasised that the findings are “preliminary,” and that they have decided to continue the investigation.
