India issued a clarification regarding its policy for foreign investment in the news digital media sector

On 16 October 2020, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) issued a clarification regarding its Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) policy for entities engaged in the news digital media sector. The current notification has provided a 1 year grace period for companies to align their shareholding within the 26% limit and obtain government approval.
