Republic of Korea: Ministry of Science and ICT announced guideline on standards and examples for high-impact AI

On 15 January 2025, the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technology (MSICT) announced the drafting of the guidelines on standards and examples for High-Impact Artificial Intelligence pursuant to Article 33 of the Framework Act on the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence and Creation of a Trust Foundation (AI Basic Act). The guideline provides sector-based examples across energy, water supply, healthcare, nuclear power, law enforcement, recruitment, lending, education, transport, and public services.
