United States of America: Healthcare Enhancement and Learning Through Harnessing Artificial Intelligence Act (HEALTH AI Act/HR 5045) was introduced to House of Representatives

On 26 August 2025, the Healthcare Enhancement and Learning Through Harnessing Artificial Intelligence Act (HEALTH AI Act/HR 5045) was introduced to the House of Representatives. The Bill directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to establish a grant programme to fund research regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence in healthcare. Permissible research areas include improving practitioners' ability to record comprehensive notes or ask medically relevant questions, reducing administrative or documentation burden on clinicians, expediting health insurance claims, and improving customer service efficiency and quality in the health care sector.
