On 6 October 2025, Decree No. 2025-767 on the presentation of the warning message concerning the illegal nature of behaviours represented in pornographic content enters into force. The decree implements Articles 1-3 of Law No. 2004-575 of 21 June 2004 on confidence in the digital economy, as inserted by Article 12 of Law No. 2024-449 of 21 May 2024 on securing and regulating the digital space. The decree applies to producers of pornographic audiovisual works, providers of online content hosting services containing pornographic material, and state services responsible for combating offences against minors and violent offences against persons, and is applicable in New Caledonia, French Polynesia, and the Wallis and Futuna Islands.
