United States of America: Florida Attorney General filed lawsuit against NKL Associates over failure to implement age verification mechanism

On 5 August 2025, the Florida Office of the Attorney General initiated legal proceedings against NKL Associates, operating as XNXX, for alleged non-compliance with House Bill 3 (HB 3) and the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA). Pursuant to HB 3, commercial online distributors of sexually explicit content that is harmful to minors must verify the age of users before granting access. The lawsuit claims XNXX failed to comply with these obligations despite substantial traffic originating from Florida, including minors. The Attorney General is seeking a court order to enforce compliance with both HB 3 and FDUTPA provisions.
