Description

Ban on Online Gambling Act (Bill No. 30) was introduced to Senate

On 2 July 2025, the Ban on Online Gambling Act (Bill No. 30) was introduced to the Philippines Senate. The Bill prohibits the operation, promotion, participation in, or facilitation of online gambling in any form. Internet service providers, app stores, and payment platforms are required to block access to gambling platforms and submit regular compliance reports. An inter-agency Online Gambling Control Task Force (OGCTF) will be created under the Office of the President to oversee enforcement. It will be chaired by PAGCOR, not just generically "chaired", and will include the DOJ, DICT, AMLC, and others. The task force has the power to block sites, coordinate internationally, issue takedown orders, and support addiction recovery efforts.
