California Privacy Protection Agency Board issued a fine against Accurate Append for non-compliance with registration requirements under Delete Act

On 28 July 2025, the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) Board ordered Accurate Append, Inc., a data broker based in Bellevue, Washington, to pay a USD 55'400 administrative fine for failing to register as a data broker in violation of the Delete Act. It was highlighted that the company annually buys, sells, or shares the personal information of 100'000 or more consumers. The company is also required to register in future years if it conducts such activity, disclose required metrics under the California Consumer Privacy Act in its privacy policy, and notify the CPPA if it ceases data broker operations.
