United States and European Union announced Trade Agreemet including provisions on network usage fees and electronic transmissions

On 27 July 2025, the United States and the European Union announced a Trade Agreement that includes commitments to address digital trade barriers. As part of the agreement, both parties agreed to maintain zero customs duties on electronic transmissions. Additionally, the European Union confirmed that it will not adopt or maintain network usage fees. The agreement also includes provisions to strengthen economic security alignment, support innovation, and reinforce supply chain resilience through complementary actions addressing non-market policies of third parties and joint efforts in investment review and export controls.
