China: National Cybersecurity Standardisation Technical Committee closes consultation on draft national standard on technical requirements for minors mode in mobile internet

On 27 September 2025, the Secretariat of the National Cybersecurity Standardisation Technical Committee (TC260) closes the public consultation on the draft national standard titled Cybersecurity technology: Technical requirements for minors mode in mobile internet. The draft standard specifies technical requirements for the implementation of minors mode in mobile smart terminals, mobile internet applications, and mobile internet application distribution platforms. It outlines provisions for one-click activation and deactivation, application management, system account control, usage time restrictions, content filtering, consumption limitation, and software-hardware interaction. The draft includes obligations concerning the collection, processing, and safeguarding of minors’ personal and sensitive information, in accordance with GB/T 35273—2020 and GB/T 45574—2025. The consultation aimed to collect feedback from relevant units and experts to inform the standard’s finalisation.
