Italy: Communications Regulatory Authority announced investigation into ddownload on grounds of copyright infringement (Order No. DDA/0001092)

On 10 July 2025, the Italian Communications Authority (AGCOM) announced an investigation proceeding concerning the unauthorised distribution of audio-visual content on the website http://ddownload.com, following a complaint submitted by the Federation for the Protection of Audiovisual and Multimedia Content Industries (FAPAV) on behalf of Sky Italia. The investigation applies to digital intermediaries and hosting providers facilitating access to over 750 copyrighted works, allegedly in breach of Italy’s Copyright Law (Law no. 633/1941). Service providers offering Italian users access to the infringing site are invited to voluntarily block it and notify AGCOM.
