Description

Communications Regulatory Authority issued order requiring blocking of bigconv platform due to non-compliance with Law on copyright protection

On 10 July 2025, the Communications Regulatory Authority (AGCOM) ordered internet providers in Italy to block access to the bigconv platform within two days and redirect users to an informational page, due to the site's violation of the Copyright Law. The decision followed a complaint from the Federation Against Music and Multimedia Piracy, which reported that the platform allowed illegal stream ripping by converting streaming links into mp3 downloads. The AGCOM confirmed that the site unlawfully enabled permanent copies of protected music, causing serious and potentially irreparable harm to rights holders.
