Description

European Commission opened consultation on the action plan against cyberbullying

On 22 July 2025, the European Commission (EC) opened a public consultation to inform its forthcoming action plan against cyberbullying, until 29 September 2025. The plan applies to online platforms, national authorities, education institutions and civil society, focusing on minors and vulnerable youth, including migrants, and those with disabilities. It aims to develop a unified EU definition of cyberbullying, support Member States’ strategies, and enhance cooperation among stakeholders. It also seeks to improve digital literacy and safe social media use, strengthen reporting mechanisms, and ensure comprehensive victim support. The initiative builds on existing EU measures, including the Digital Services Act (DSA) and Better Internet for Kids (BIK+) strategy.
